What is Chiropractic?

First of all, chiropractic care is a conservative form of health care. Chiropractic literally means use of the hands. In comparison allopathic or medical care is conventional care which uses drugs and surgery which often is a more intrusive or radical form of dealing with health problems. Chiropractic care attempts to deal with the cause of the problems by correcting spinal misalignments which may be interfering with spinal nerves influencing the surrounding muscles and other structures and organs which have these nerves as their source of information and energy by using manipulation and other supportive therapies. This can affect the nervous system which is our bodies' computer system. By correcting the problems with the "hardware" or spine, the information in our nervous systems or the "software" can be correctly programmed and is allowed to flow freely so the body can heal.

Chiropractic care can often help a multitude of problems, but the kind of conditions that most people come in to a chiropractic office for treatment are injuries from car accidents, low back pain, neck pain and headaches. Surprisingly, the other most common complaints include depression and fatigue. All of these conditions often respond well to chiropractic care.

What to expect:

Many people have never been to a chiropractic office and those that have may have experienced something entirely different than what they will experience in our office.

On your first visit we provide a consultation at no charge in order to determine whether chiropractic care can help you. I will sit down with you and discuss your history and the onset of your current problems. If, as a result of that consultation, it is determined that you are a candidate for care, you will be informed of what further examination is necessary, and its cost. Once the examination is performed the need for further testing, such as X-rays, is determined and those are ordered.

After that we sit down and discuss your condition, what the findings are and what is necessary for you to get well. A program will be designed to fit your needs. We are also aware that financial and insurance considerations are of a concern to everyone. We will make every attempt to accommodate the patient with a plan which will work so that it does not get in the way of your care.

Getting your health problems themselves addressed is often hard enough without dealing with a lot of the insurance and bureaucratic issues. Our office makes every attempt to address your problems in a straightforward manner and take care of the insurance billing or make the arrangements for easy payment options.
